I like clean Sukuma wiki(Kales),
The thought of engaging with a worm while eating makes me scream!
The thought that I could be squeezing a small snail between my teeth, makes me shiver
So sometimes i prefer cabbages because i imagine, it is more likely that you will see a snail or worm on a cabbage than in Sukuma (kales)
Last weekend my mum in law, taught me a good one
To soak or clean the Sukuma with salty water, everything come falling off, all the tiny snails and the worms
So this is what I am doing, just soaking it all up in salty water ( i think a lot of salt)ha!
Thank God, I can now eat Sukumas' in peace and my kids can enjoy more greens in the house.
Please give this advice to to your house helps as they clean the Sukuma..it might save you and your children a worm!!!! or worse a fatty slug/snail! Ouch!
