I am always apologizing for my kids in restaurants and Hotels. They play keyboard with Forks and knifes, they completely make a mess of the table, they wave to other customers. Sometimes this does not go very well and though sometimes they get a wave back, some customers really get irritated.
I can only imagine how the waiters feel after we leave. Even when we get some bad service, I sometimes feel obliged to tip, because the waiters need it, they have to work extra hard to clear all the mess my kids make.
Guys, what to do? I have really been thinking. How do I stop the turning of plates into drums and fork and knifes into key boards. And most of all the spilling of stuff on the floor.

Look at this...chocolate all down.
Ems, On this one I do feel you. Mine is one yet she gives me a run for my energy. But when all this happens I want to sit back and thank God coz as time moves they will be growing towards being orderly. Atleast you are out of the days when U ued to carry their food from home, not to mention how tedious it used to be....now they eat whatever is available.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain! When my oldest turned one and become a terror in restaurants (visualize a kid running through a restaurant in between tables and laughing so hard at mommy chasing him), I banished myself from restaurants for about a year! Things got so much better the older he got and by three years old, dining out with him was actually enjoyable! Then the little ones joined the family and we were back to square one! Now I pack some crayons and coloring books to keep the kids busy if the restaurant does not provide some and I also put the silverware out of the kids reach as soon as we are sitted.
