Mum in the field.

Its been quiet because this mum is currently on a field mission in  Senegal. Enjoy a few photos for the time being.
The beach  - Amazing Atlantic Ocean
The framissima palm beach hotel Senegal-where we are staying.
Last evening we went out for ride to some Island. Look at this little wonderful kids crossing the bridge to go home. They look like they are from school. Home is the far end...they call it their village. This is around 7:45pm...and yet still bright... its hard for a Kenyan to imagine so.
Mum and her Colleagues - Beautiful ladies. Actually, next to me is my boss. Wonderful lady.
The view from my room.Beyond the trees is the beach.

I skype  my family every day and my one and only hubby facilitates this so well - I am forever grateful to God for him. His support is always amazing.

Want to Fight? Surrender!

Sometimes back, through my normal day to day struggles as a Mum, the Lord spoke to me very Cleary on the issue of surrender. Because it had reached a point where I felt like i keep struggling with the same issues over and over again.

This is what I got impressed upon my heart.

As a believer, spiritual battle begins at the point of surrender that is the first encounter that you must have with God as you address day to day challenges. Remember the bible say that the weapons of our warfare are not of this world, they are mighty through God. (2nd Corinthians 10:4)

Yes, you must be willing to surrender your weapons of war in exchange  for the mighty ones of God.

We must be willing to surrender;

Our experiences, which sometimes hinder us from experiencing God and we use them to think we are very wise. This includes how God fought for us the last time.

Our past – that more than often hold us back. We use it to fight because it’s all we have anyway and all that we can account for.

Self help books – they are wonderful but no matter how much you meditate on the self help books, they never ever equate to the word of God or wisdom that is downloaded from the throne room.

Book knowledge - very good, but it has its place, this weapon can take you only so far, you need to surrender it so that God can fill you with Knowledge of His power through Christ our Lord.

Human wisdom – God calls it foolishness. So really, why would you want to wage war in foolishness?

Religion – just because it s a good doctrine that you follow, it does not mean that it is right, in fact, some one said, after Lucifer the worst thing that happened to Christens is religion. God is interested in having a relationship with you.

So my dear mums. If you want to wage war right.  First -surrender all your weapons – and ask God to equip you with His weapons. They are MIGHTY!

Have a victorious week as you serve Him. He is our Lord-I just Love Him

Should i resign from work?

I have had many Mums talk about how guilty they feel when they are going back to work after maternity leave. I have been there too, so I know that how feels.

I have heard of Mums who have left their jobs for awhile so that they can take care of kids when they are young. I haven’t done that, though there are times when such thoughts have crossed my mind.

I know they are mothers who are convinced that full time motherhood is what every mother has been called to. I can’t answer that because I do not have that conviction yet, but neither can I say that those who feel so are wrong because God speaks to us as individuals. He is not a democratic God and does not work with majority.

I have also heard of mothers who can’t wait to go back to work, in fact the three months maternity leave at home with the baby can be quite overwhelming for them. Well, that I must say puzzles me a bit. But I cannot judge them either.

I have also heard of Women who have no interest whatsoever in Children, they get married and they are supper content. Well, great, that forms a marriage. Children don’t form a marriage. So I have no problem.

I am not here to give answers to these complex questions because I am of the opinion that they differ and that they are personal depending on what God has planned for your life.

I am very content has as working Mum; I continue to experience a lot of grace and Peace as I work and as I take care of my children and family, I have with time and through Gods’ grace learnt the art of balancing, I am not quite there yet, but I can be chairing a meeting in the board room at 4:50pm, and be changing messy diapers at 5:10pm, cooking and loving my hubby and the like. And I have found such great assurance in God that makes me know for sure that I am supposed to be doing what I am doing today. God has placed a huge burden for Africa in my heart and my family and my work are part and parcel of this vision that I carry every day.

So if a mum were to ask me, if they should resign from their work and take care of their children. I would ask them, what is God saying about it? Because if God says it, that settles it!

What I have realized in the world of motherhood is that, it is a very opinionated world. And most of us mothers, I include, have all sorts of opinion about everything. Granted, we must all learn from each other and that that is why I have this blog in the first place, to share my experiences, but remember my life is not yours and yours is not mine, you can try the principles, pick out the lessons but you must always remember that you are a master piece, unique and none like any other in the whole globe.
Find your assurance in Christ.

Cast it on stone!

What is your vision as a wife and or a mum? I have discovered that without one whatever you do might seem right, wherever you go might seem okay after any road can take you to nowhere. I think it is good to make a conscious decision on how you want to live your life as great results must be planned for including how you want to see your children and or your family, 5, 10, 15 years from now. Write down your vision, look at it regularly, revise it as much as you can and most of all seek the Lord about it. So do you have one?

They are a gift!

Let’s take time to enjoy the gift of motherhood. Let’s remember we are but stewards. Lets make God proud as we ask Him for wisdom to raise our children. They are but a gift, they belong to the Lord and only in Him can we raise them to be the Children He desired them to be. You wish they came with a Manual? Never! It is demanded of you to constantly talk to Him who gave them to you so that He can speak to you about their lives and in so doing you harness their God given purpose. This weekend, take time to Thank God for choosing you and giving you the children you have and ask Him to give you wisdom to raise them. He desires a godly generation.

Today is my Favorite day

My daughter - Tehillah, loves to sing a song that goes like this
"Today is my favorite day, God  has made it a special day,
I love tomorrow and yesterday but today is my favorite day"
This song always brings me back to sanity. It  captures the mood of the moment and reminds me of the need to enjoy each day. Indeed, lets  make each day our favorite day. For it is the day that the Lord has made, God has placed a lot of value in it and so should we. Let us not allow days to just pass us by.

Can we quit?

Can we all quit being Super Women and allow God to work through us. We struggle so much instead of allowing God's grace to flow in our lives. I have learnt with time that God takes care of us and our families. He is the God of our Children as well and no matter what He remains Faithful.
