Out of control
Like a city whose walls are broken down, is a man who lacks self control, Proverbs 25:28
Sometimes my kids mis-behave and I have a phrase that I like to use when am asking them to behave. I usually tell them, behave or I will land on you. That landing sometimes makes me feel like I am losing control especially when they do some stuff that turn me to a spider woman-Yes; driving me up the wall. In such times, the above verse applies and I have to confront myself and remind myself that I cannot afford to have my walls broken down.
I beat my body and make it subject to Christ. Sometimes I fail and plead for mercy and forgiveness from God and I work towards changing me. The verse above applies to many of us, think of a city whose walls are broken down? What does that mean? No security, exposed and all the other stuff that is going through your mind. I love to read about the fruit of the Holy Spirit and I love to pray about patience and self control. However i have come to realize that being patient or attaining self control is not some miracle that happens through impartation, it is a process.
You ask God for patience – He is presents opportunities to exercise that fruit and sometimes through our children. How has it been for you?
Have a self-Controlled week
