When my sister (Purity) was born. I was so grateful that I had a
little sister. By then I was ten years
old. The sanguine brother I have called Alex had this to say to my sister many
years later.
Purity: Hey guys- how was it for you to have a little sister, i mean how did you feel when i was born?
Emmah : Well, I was so happy! I just kept hoping that mum
gets a girl
Purity : Well, what about you bro?
Alex: I had no feelings about it. However the moment I laid
my eyes on you, I knew for sure-We are all in trouble!
(We all laugh)
Well, I was going through some past photos of the kids and I
bumped into this one. I had just arrived from Hospital with Ethan and the look
on Kendi’s face makes me think that this is the look my brother must have had
when he looked at my sister then.
Kendi and Tana seems
to be having a hard time coping with Ethan. This is what Ethan sometimes does.
·
If Kendi and Tana refuse with a Toy that he really
needs- He pulls their braids! He knows it hurts and they will drop the toy as
soon as his hands are on their head.
·
Sometimes he will get on top of a seat where
Tana is sitting and just beat her up for no reason and laugh as he does it.
·
He will hide their shoes on schools day and the
girls will keep looking for their shoes, I mean the entire house looks for them.
·
He pushes them all over like they weigh 2kgs while
he is 20kg.
Well, I guess that is that. I am still learning how to
handle this boy who seems to always bully my little girls. Trust you me, we began spanking Ethan sometime back and we know with the Lords help he will catch up
with discipline.
I am so laughing at this! Those poor braids -- just right for little hands to catch. What stories they will tell of their childhood -- just as you and your brother tell now. May God bless your family in the future as He has now.
ReplyDeleteYes, they look like they are not quite sure what they are getting themselves into with the addition of that little one.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds a little like my youngest - she came from being a mellow, sweet girl who laughed all the time to being the family bully in the last six months! It always reminds me of our sin nature because she has not learnt some of her behavior from any other child. When they play school, she is always the teacher (never mind she is only three and has not yet started school), spends all day ordering her oldest siblings around to do her bidding, and even sends them on time out when they are naughty! So far, the kids go along with her bossy ways - I don't think they have figured out she is no longer a baby! Oh the day they decide they have had enough! We will all be in trouble!
ReplyDeleteHi Ems, am not sure Ethan is doing that coz he is a boy coz am having more or less the same with my 9months old. She is so harassing the sister (4yrs) every time I arrive home Ri is waiting for me to report the sister....Mommy Desh pinched me, Mommy we need to beat her, Today w wot forgive.....and the story goes on..... I have also realized Ri loves it when Desh is being disciplined......Am hoping that God will give me the grace I need to bring up kids after his own heart......Kudos gal for managing so well 3 kids under five.....
