Truth

I am currently learning about the Truth!

Let me ask you a question?  Are you living the Truth of the word of God?

Can you say that – your life is based on nothing but the truth of the Word of God?

In one of my quiet times with God, I have learnt that, even if I do not live the Truth that is in the Word of God, it does not change the fact that it is the Truth! So guess who is the looser?

For example, if I don’t believe that God loves me, it does not change the fact that He loves me! I can mourn all day but He loves me Period!

So, the other day I prayed to God and asked Him to open my eyes to all areas of deception in my life and free me from all deceptive bondages and lead me to His eternal Truth.

Okay, this is what I believe.

  • If there is a Christian life to be lived, then I want to live it to the full.
  • If there are truths in the word of God that need to be applied in my life, then I need to live and apply them.
  • If Jesus died that I may have an abundant life- then why not have it all!

Really what’s the point of being a half baked Christian?

What’s the point of believing some things in the bible and living like some of the texts in the bible do not exist at all?

I have learnt a new one. When I am faced with a situation- I ask…what the truth about this situation?

It is that truth that sets me free. Sometimes I do not want to hear it, but it is the TRUTH.

Picture this. I am worried about a certain situation and have been worried for days. First and foremost- that is asin (The bible says-Do not worry!!). So a part from the fact that I need to go before God in repentance for worrying, I need to face the Truth. The bible says, do not WORRY. Period and when I choose to walk in disobedience and worry, it does not change the Truth that I should not worry.

I believe that the enemy capitalizes on deceit; he likes it when we have half truths and live pitiful Christian lives, while Jesus died so that we may have an abundant life.

So I dare you today- just like I have been daring myself. If there are TRUTHS to be lived, I choose to live them, honestly, as one preacher said, if Jesus died that we may have life and have it in abundance it must be a sin not to live such a life.

...and I know I am preaching to myself so help me God!.....

Giving

The other day, I was thinking of how much influence our parents have on us. It reminded me that as I was growing up, the one thing that hit my head all the time was that my parent’s could give away anything!!!! I am glad they never gave us away!!!! I mean it was that bad! – Good!!!

It used to pain me for some reason. Most of all, my mum. She would share all our delicacies with people and when visitors logged in at home, we almost had to beg her not to give way the cakes, sausages, pancakes and the like. But since she knew we were mean little brats children, she would wait for me to serve some tea and then declare in the presence of visitors…please serve us pancakes too or did some queen cakes remain? I was brought up in the village and these things were rare-so giving them out....no no no...!!

My dad!! He is a super giver, to date, if I were to tell my dad I am in need right now, he would beg, steal or borrow. When I was a little, I remember overhearing a conversation. This woman was narrating to my mum how her friend (an old lady that my mum did not know) had saved all her pennies to buy a 1/4kg of meat. When the old lady went to buy the long-awaited meat, my dad happened to have been queuing behind her, so when she asked for her meat, my dad was moved with compassion and told the butcher, please give her 1kg and I will pay.  The old lady must have been moved to tears…or so I imagine.

Not long ago, I was in a supermarket, and a lady who was queuing before me, paid for all her goodies but the money was not enough, so she asked the cashier to return the bread. I quickly jumped in and said, please give her back the bread, I will pay for it.Well, to be honest, I could see this lady was from some nearby slum, she bought some soap, a little cooking oil and she must have longed to have some bread too, may be for her children, but her pennies were not enough.

Well, guess what? We learn a lot from our parents! I hope our kids and learning great stuff from us! I thank God; my parent’s taught me how to give and i am still learning more! My husband now complains that I give away too much-even what deserves to be sold!

Hurting deeply

I am in the office and I cannot stop thinking about my nephew. I recently shared how God has loved on me, and part of that was the birth of my nephew, Jaden Joseph Karega.

But little did we know that this wonderful boy had 4 weeks to live. The Lord called him home on 1oth of November 2012. I am hurting deeply and I can only imagine how the Mum and Dad are feeling. But I am trusting God to heal our hearts.
These are the photos I had shared in my recent post, busy but loving it...
Sweet Angel...
Forever in my heart Jaden.
Please pray for Sylvia and Alex during this painful time in their lives.  Sylvia blogs too and you can find her blog here and send a word of encouragement her way.

To all possessive mothers

Well, can I start by saying that I think i do boarder around being possessive and I am praying about it.
You will hear a lot of stories about mothers and how they are possessive of their children. My friends and I were discussing about this the other day and while it is an area of contention I must admit it is one those issues I am leaning to take to the Lord in prayer because I do not want to go overboard and worst of all, limit God’s move in the lives of our children because of my utter selfishness.

A friend once gave me a story of how her son was so sick for weeks and one day the Lord spoke to her heart and told her, ‘every time you pray for him, you say, God heal "my" son, I want you to say, God, please heal this your child” and the child was instantly healed. The issues was not the grammar, it was the mere lesson that, please remember, he is my son, my child, and you are only a steward.

Let’s think about it further,
  • David, young boy born of a woman for master’s use, served king Saul and latter become king
  • Samuel, the mother had to let go after weaning for masters use
  • Joseph, separated from family at 17 years of age for masters use
  • Queen Esther – was an orphan, taken in my Mordecai, her uncle …for masters use
Well, what I am saying is this, God uses men and women, this men and women are born by women. Now the women, who bear these little precious ones, must be careful to remember, these children first and foremost belong to the Lord. They are not ours to keep (What a hard truth!)…Pray that the Lord helps us mothers, not to abort Gods divine purpose for our children just because we cannot let go.

When we attended parenting class by navigators 4 years ago, the underlying message was "preparing our children to leave"…I hope you are preparing yours to leave…because they will…for masters use!!! Well, I am trying…help me Jesus!!!
