Tarry here.

  • So, God promised something and its seems like it’s taking forever to come to pass?
  • You have waited for too long and there are no signs of hope around the corner?
  • Actually – did God even speak to you in the first place?
  • Wait a minute – this open ended-ness is driving you crazy?
You know, I love God…and I am determined to pursue Him, however His concept of sovereignty is mind boggling.  You know that part that says – “He is God and we are not”.

Sometimes God give details, sometimes He leaves things hanging – or so we think, not that we fill the answers but that He will bring it to completion.

I sort of relate with Aaron, Hur, Nadab , Abihu and the 70 of the elders of Israel. These guys were left somewhere down the mountain and Moses tells them, tarry here for us until we come back to you (exodus 24:14). Joshua and I are about to go up the mountain. (Those were the instructions that God had given then-to go up the mountain). I am sure Moses had no clue of how long they will be up there.
Now, my challenge is tarry here for us until we come back. – Well, not bad, I can only imagine the people must have thought Mosses and Joshua are up for a few, hours, then days, then weeks, then…then…and then…the waiting was too long….

So they finally concluded – in chapter 32...these guys have delayed and for this guy called Moses we don’t know what became of him.

What shocks me is that these guys are no stranger to who God is if you read chapter 24, my amplified bible puts it this way “and they saw the God is Israel, a convincing manifestation of His presence, and under His feet it was like pavement of bright sapphire stone, like the very heavens  in its clearness” verse 10.

So- what is with the change of heart having being such witnesses of God’s presence?

If you follow through the conversation between God and Moses, you will realize the Aaron and Company, gave up just before Moses was about to come down.

Well, I was thinking that it is one thing to be clear about when this or that will happen, it is another thing to know that it will happen but you don’t know when?

I would imagine that the latter calls for more patience.

So my dear, if you are in the tarrying position with no clue of the dates, the times …please hang on right there. Don’t started wondering what your Moses became of? Even when it gets real dark, still hold on to what you heard in the light. You know you heard it-it was clear, God spoke,  with clear evidence of His presence, hang on, don’t grow weary…as hard as it may be…be still and know that He is God.
